Hazel Gordy
Hazel Gordy is a licensed real estate agent who brings a high degree of creativity, integrity and panache to the Beth Styne Group. Hazel’s real estate story begins as a music story. As the daughter of Motown Records founder
Berry Gordy, Hazel was born into the Motown legacy — which produced some of the 20th century’s most iconic musical artists and continues to influence contemporary music today. Hazel would often travel with her father and look at premier estates around the world. Her passion for real estate was ignited again later in life, as she accompanied her husband of 14 years, Jermaine Jackson, on his worldwide musical tours. Her experiences abroad exposed her to different cultures and architectural styles that guide her real estate approach to this day. Her interest in architecture and interior design eventually led her to continue her education at UCLA.
In 1989, she decided to do something that she loved that was outside of the entertainment business, so she obtained her real estate license. Hazel’s rich life experience, designer’s eye and personal network of entertainment industry connections elevate her real estate service today. “I’ve been around entertainers my whole life and I know what they want,” she says. Discretion, a protective spirit and out-of-the-box problem solving are also among the qualities that distinguish Hazel as a real estate agent. She is relentless about getting the best deal possible for her clients.
Being a raw vegan keeps Hazel healthy, in addition to her love for bodybuilding, barre classes and yoga. This provides her with the energy that she needs to hunt down the ideal properties for her clients. When she is not selling real estate, she enjoys spending time with her three adult children, her grandson and her two pocket pitbulls.
